Brake for Breakfast is a “drive-through” event scheduled early enough so that women on their way to work or dropping kids off at school can participate. It’s a quick, easy, good information, and you don’t even have to get out of your car! This year we will be handing out 900 packets in the area communities. The ultimate goal of the event is to remind all women to do monthly self-breast exams and talk to your doctor about scheduling regular mammograms, after the age of 40. While there is no cure for breast cancer, survival rates are very high when diagnosed early. Unfortunately, Idaho has one of the lowest mammogram usage rates in the United States.
The District wishes to thank the Susan G. Komen Foundation for their generous support to this annual event and the Pink Ladies Auxiliary and PCHD staff for all their assistance in helping to organize the event. For more information on Brake for Breakfast contact Jacklyn Taylor at 226-3200.
