We are highlighting four options for you to cook-up and try this month for a tasty breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Each meal has ingredients that are good for your heart and are easy to make! First, it’s important to start the day off right with a good breakfast for your ticker. Try out this great option from The Kitchn website for Olive Oil Carrot Muffins! This recipe is full of goodness for your heart. It has oats packed with fiber to reduce bad cholesterol; carrots filled with vitamin A and antioxidants; and uses applesauce and light olive oil as a healthier baking substitute to butter. Make up a batch on the weekend to enjoy for easy breakfasts on the go!
Second, try this heart healthy Mason Jar Taco Salad with Avocado-Cilantro Dressing that is perfect to pack for work lunches and who doesn’t love taco salad? Using a mason jar helps keep your meal proportions in check and you can make 4 days’ worth of lunches at one time. The recipe is also full of flavor and fiber with a good mix of veggies and beans that your heart will love. Valentine’s Day is coming up, so how about sharing this yummy and healthy Spiced Chocolate Mousse with Maple-Whipped Topping & Candied Pecans with your sweetheart!
