Job Details Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department and Acute floor. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a registered nurse. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with providers about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Adhere to District Policies * Promote achievement of District goals * Observe and enforce safety precautions for all District personnel, patients and visitors * Controls resources and processes toward the attainment of optimum provision of service * Provide care for the patient/resident utilizing current general nursing skills and interventions * Collect data regarding the patient needs, environment, his/her family, educational requirements, and coordinating this information with appropriate interdisciplinary team members to assure continuity of care from admission to discharge * Promote interdepartmental cooperation * Practice within the scope of education, demonstrated competence, and nursing experience. Major Responsibilities: (but not limited) : Graduate of a LPN nursing program * State of Idaho licensed LPN * One or more years LPN experience in Acute/ED preferred * References indicating honesty, good attendance, dependability, performance and leadership abilities. * English language skills adequate for effective communications with staff, patients, medical and allied support personnel, public * Positive supportive/coaching approach to co-workers. * Computer skills * Good general health * Work is active, some lifting, bending and twisting required * Ability to deal positively in stressful situations * willing to work varied shifts and weekends as needed* Current BLS certification.LPN-ACUTE/ED (PRN)
